Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Daniel M — 02 Sep 2008
This is THE debut of debut's, and with it, Paul Thomas Anderson announced to the world that he was here to stay. Being almost 7 years since I have last watched it, it shows just how strikingly intelligent and cool a simple character study can be.
With a resume that includes, "Boogie Nights," "Magnolia," and most recently, "There Will Be Blood," Anderson's first film further enforces that he is one of the greatest filmmaker's of his time.
Outstanding!
