Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Daniel S — 15 Feb 2010
One of the best films I've ever seen that I'd never heard of until a couple of years ago. Excellent in its simplicity with Samuel L. Jackson in the house and an excellent Philip Seymour Hoffman cameo.
The premise seems a stretch at first but a twist makes sense of it, and though it ends kind of abruptly you realise it was the perfect point to end the story, whilst the viewer perhaps craves for more.
Just brilliant.
