Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Jennifer U — 19 Feb 2010
Its astounding that this was someone's first film. The fact that it was P.T. Anderson's first shows that he was meant to be one of best director's of all time. Hard Eight isn't a masterpiece that is measurable to Boogie Nights, Magnolia, or There Will Be Blood but it is a very good film.
Plus its great to have a film with Philip Baker Hall as the main character because he is just amazing.
