Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Paul D — 08 May 2010
A straight forward debut from Paul Thomas Anderson. Very nice to see the plain and stripped down story that eventually expanded Anderson's talent towards making the great American movie. I'd say this is a movie of performances and we get nothing but the best.
Plus the very small scene with a young Philip Seymour Hoffman reminded me of a young Bill Paxton.
