Great debut film from Paul Thomas Anderson that shows off the talent to come. Hard Eight is a no nonsense straight forward crime thriller that is perfectly cast and shot throughout the entire film. The story follows an old time hustler played by Hall and how he takes in a drifter and begins to show him the ropes of the gambling world.
Which leads both parties into a world of thugs and backstabbers.
