Review of Hard Eight (1997) by Sean K — 24 Feb 2013
Though it is justly small scale in terms of story and play, Hard Eight is full of great performances (especially from Phillip Baker Hall), signature P.T. structuring and direction (father-son underlinings), and some good twists that will keep the audience within the rise and fall of the film.
Overall, the film could have done a little more for me, broadening the story and it's characters a little more. Yet, the film is scaled tightly enough to enjoy and P.T.'s work behind the camera is yet again fantastic.
Watch it!
