Review of Hard Boiled (1992) by Patrick K — 15 Oct 2008
The direct translation from the original Chinese title is, "God of Guns," which pretty much sums it up. Any film where the opening scene consists of the hero making himself a drink at a jazz club is sure to be an excellent re-telling of the old-school hard-boiled detective stories.
Also, as Woo's last Hong Kong-made film, this represented the end of an era in Chinse film making.
