Review of Hard Boiled (1992) by Bobby K — 27 May 2012
Probably the most indulgent, over the top action film I've ever seen in my life. This would be John Woo's last major Hong Kong film before Hollywood would set him up with Van Damme for Hard Target, and most notably Face/Off.
It has a certain hard edge to it that works, and I don't think has translated as well into his American films. Leave your brain at the door and take this with a grain of salt (and maybe even a lime too, after all his name is Tequila.
... oh no I made a pun like Joel Siegel), and you will enjoy this film.
