Review of Harakiri (1962) by Andrew B — 06 Oct 2010
It's feels like it's been forever since I watched a truly bad movie. Over the past few weeks (read: months) I feel like I've seen great film after great film. Harakiri is no different. It's a Samurai film sort of mixed with a film-noir, and if that wasn't strange enough it goes as far as to mock the Samurai code, Bushido.
Comparing this to the other Samurai films I've seen feels strange. It's so different, and it's good. There's a lot of fun to be had watching this one. A lot of fun.
