This movie is terrible. While it tries to be a smart and witty indie sleeper, it comes off as preachy, half-baked, and pretentious. HappyThankYouMorePlease lacks in any relevant character development while trying to make up for it with formulaic sit-com dialogue.
Zoe Kazan's character Mary Catherine, had no redeeming qualities and the subplot involving her was completely pointless. Overall it would have been better served as a 30-minute sitcom, not a feature length film.
Josh, I'm not waiting for your novel, stick to the short stories, your movie sucks.
