Review of Happy, Happy (2010) by Mike V — 18 Oct 2011
Some of the characters were a little too exaggerated at the start of the movie for me to feel that invested in the story--for example, too naive, in the case of Kaja, or too mean, in the case of her husband.
Later on, the characters started to become more human and thus more interesting, although the dysfunctional marriages and the rapidity with which the sexual liaisons formed gave the movie a tone that was both dark and a bit difficult to believe.
I did find Kaja's own personal development more interesting by the end of the film. On an oddly positive note, I didn't really see what the musical interludes interspersed throughout had much to do with the rest of the movie, but I actually kind of enjoyed them.
