Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Leina R — 02 May 2009
The story about Poppy and exasperatingly happy and perky individual who views life as positive and has no worries despite being single, with no mortgage or children. Poppy may be annoying and awkward at times, but somehow you feel that she is on some sort of secret that the rest of us are not aware of.
She is what some of us should aspire to be, happy without necessarily having a reason to be. Sally Hawkins does a great performance by never turning Poppy into an annoying and grating person. However, the stand out performance has to be Eddie Marsan as the angry opposite driving instructor who can't tolerate Poppy's worldview.
