Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Louise P — 16 Jun 2009
How I do like a quirky British film. Maybe this was trying to be a little too quirky, trying just a little bit too hard to have those hidden depths with the sharp contrasts of human nature. The lead character was irritating enough to make you want to slap her, yet endearing.
The scene stealers were the driving instructor and the flamenco teacher, making the whole thing worth watching, in my opinion. So much dark and light - could it be the modern Heart of Darkness? I don't think so.
