This is Mike Leigh's Amelie: a film he made after working with darker material for a long, long time. Let's imagine a flitty, pretty, eccentric young woman and make alllll the dark dreams go away.
It's cute, it's funny. You can feel the menace of a typical Mike Leigh film peeking around the edges the entire time, but ultimately this one gets to have a life of its own. And it's available on Netflix streaming!
