I spent the first half of the film wanting to punch the main character and found this terribly distracting. Having said that, I enjoyed this more than I have any of Leigh's other films. In Happy-Go-Lucky, I at least felt that I understood and liked where Leigh was trying to go, but he just seemed to get distracted along the way.
There were some fantastic scenes that really grabbed me, but then the eccentric personality would get in the way again.
