Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Brent C — 11 Sep 2010
Enjoyably quirky film about 2 low status characters who unintentionally rub each other up the wrong way. Poppy's a primary school teacher who's a little scatty but emotionally intelligent. She can't help gently digging at Scott's well meaning but fascist driving instructor.
The little episodes with the incidental characters round out Poppy's character nicely. Eddie Marsan has done a great job committing to a character as weird as Pancks in Little Dorritt.
