Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Carlo C — 19 May 2011
Whether you see her as Mirthful or Mental, Sparkling or Senseless, you can't doubt the gusto with which Sally Hawkins has launched herself into the character of Poppy Lightfoot. Eddie Marsan froths his way through a spirited set of improvisations, giving birth to his inspired and ridiculous mantra.
en-ra-hah people, en-ra-hah. A seemingly slight film that somehow stays with you for days.
