Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Dan M — 23 Jan 2012
An alright film, but way overrated. I think the film misses the point that acting like an immature little girl doesn't make you happy, it just makes you annoying. Sally Hawkins was good, but yeah she didn't deserve that Oscar Nom.
Also, some of the scenes throughout the film were just so awkward and made you scratch your head. It was a smart film focusing on a woman trying to have a positive impact on other peoples lives, but it ended up being more annyoing than inspiring.
The highlight of the film is Eddie Marsan the driving instructor who provides comedy, emotion, and good acting.
