Review of Happy Death Day (2017) by Brian R — 22 Oct 2017
Surprisingly doesn't retread the Groundhog Day idea by adding very clever plot points and a few smart add-ons to that formula. Of course the movie is silly, self-aware, and not scary but it's also incredibly well acted by the main actress, sometimes very heartfelt (due mostly to the acting), and pretty damn funny.
I was never bored, had a great time, even with two morons on their phones the entire movie, and will probably be buying this on bluray to watch every year.
