Review of Happy Death Day (2017) by Jb M — 29 Nov 2017
Happy Death Day.
Happy Death Day is an hour and 36 minute movie that drags on for what seems to be like forever. It is about a college girl who wakes up on her birthday in an unknown dorm next to a strange boy. She is confused as to where she is or what happened the night before. The college girl goes about her day with her sorority friends and everything seems to be normal. That night, the girl and her backstabbing friends are getting ready for the party. Once she got ready, the girl headed straight to the party, but she didn't make it. Instead she is so brutally murdered. After she is murdered, the girl finds herself in that unknown college dorm with that strange boy once again, and relives the day of her murder/birthday over and over, until she finds the killer.
This movie was very repetitive and seemed to never end. The ending, however, was very unexpected and actually made sitting through that movie worth it. Happy Death Day is a thriller/comedy that is something to watch when there is nothing else on. It was an okay movie overall. The beginning through the middle did drag on but it was funny and engaging in a few spots. Just enough to make one sit through the movie. I would not choose to watch this again, but wouldn't mind if this was all there was to watch at the time. Happy Death Day is a movie that I'm sure you're not just dying to watch after this review.
