Happy Death Day started off promising, but as it progressed, it resulted to cheap cliches to keep the audience engaged with the story. It almost seemed like a crappy version of The Breakfast Club. Happy Death Day doesn't really know what it wants to be.
It tries to be so many different things that it's mediocre at best. It's trying to be a thriller that isn't really thrilling, a suspenseful movie that ruins any suspense it does have with cheap, loud jumpscares, and it tries to be a funny movie that relates to teenagers.
Overall, definitely a disappointing movie.
