Happy Death Day is the blockbuster of horror movies: it has a talented cast, a lead you go from loving to hate to fearing for her life, fun visuals and story lines, and an impeccable sense of humor. While a surprise for how fun it is, it does fall into the usual cliches and problems of horror/slasher films such as numerous loose plot points.
Happy Death Day stands as possibly Blumhouse's funniest time at the movies this year, however, and that is a huge win.
