Review of Happy Christmas (2014) by Cade H — 18 Dec 2014
Happy Christmas felt like I was watching just a few weeks of a very average americans life. Nothing exciting happened, there was no lead up to anything, no big climax or realization at the end, it was just a very monotone plot-line.
A lot of the film seemed improvised, like they just told the actors to sit and talk about anything and we'll record footage and piece together a scene. It seemed like they were trying to show how this young girl was maturing and adapting her life to living with her brother, but she never really changed.
The ending had no conclusion and the only Christmas thing about it was that the final 5 minutes were on Christmas day. I like the actors in the film but this kind of movie will only appeal to a very small select crowd and that was not me.
