Review of Happy Christmas (2014) by Ron K — 11 Jul 2014
An engaging script and solid performances make this film solid and well worth a watch. Kendrick is not quite at the top of her game in the self-centered role in which she is cast, but the divergence from what we've seen from her in other roles is welcome, even if uneasy at times.
Lena Dunham is an afterthought that doesn't deliver the comedic element that was the entire point of her character. Overall, the story works, the acting is solid, and it's work the hour and a half investment.
