Review of Happiness (1965) by Baris A — 01 Sep 2008
I still remember the first time I saw this movie in my college years and I can say Varda's Le Bonheur was one of the first films that made me love cinema, I still think it is one of the best films of its era.
With its excellent cinematography that created scenes resembling Monet's impressionist paintings and the breathtakingly beautiful Mozart strains, Le Bonheur focuses on an idyllically happy Parisian couple and their tragic fate after the husband tries to incorporate his mistress into their relationship to increase the happiness.
