Review of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) by Matthew L — 01 Jan 2014
Like banging your head against a wall for an hour and a half. The basic concept is noteworthy, but the execution is all over the place, much like the accents. Arterton is sort of plummy english, whilst Renner doesn't even bother with hiding his American accent. The effects range from acceptable to downright poor and the script is just awful and Hansel & Gretel are the two worst hunters of supernatural beings this side of Hugh Jackman's Van Helsing, getting their arses handed to them every five minutes.
Doesn't even fall into the so bad its good category.
