Review of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) by Adrian Z — 14 Jun 2014
The premise: Hansel (Renner) and Gretel (Arterton), who grew up to become witch hunters, enter a town to protect it's children from a coven of witches (led by Janssen). The execution: 90 minutes of boring plot, peppered with action sequences so numbing they end up being insipid - not helped by the endless parade of exploding heads and a potty mouthed script that may have intended to give the film and adult edge, but just sits incongruosly with the fairy tale source given steampunk stylings.
A genuine travesty.
