Review of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) by Daniel S — 21 Sep 2013
What a way to take a children's story and turn it into a spectacle of gruesome acts! Although a reminder of Hugh Jackman's Van Helsing in some aspects, this production stands on its own with a solid and mildly interesting storyline.
Initially one would think how would they take this story and make it watchable for the audience but it's nice to see how the writers took a well known story and elaborated on it, staying partially true to the original but creating something new altogether.
Unfortunately, the movie falls short of being a film that you would consider to watch over and over again, instead residing to the fact that it is a tale that should be seen but probably forgotten about long after.
