Review of Hannibal (2001) by Permadi, S — 14 Mar 2010
Quite patchy, as it starts off inspid, and arkward with the worse action sequence in cinema history? Julianne Moore as a Rambo type, don't think so. Ray Illota seems miscast also.
Otherwise the film seems drab and visually dark, with everything good in it, borrowed from Lambs. Hopkins is brilliant, the italian cop bit quite good, but pretty generic throughout, and some seriously dodgy dialogue also.
This is the weakest of the 3 (4 if you include Manhunter), but the core components of the lecter story make it a decent, if not as compelling or as good as it should be.
