Review of Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009) by Robert B — 27 Jan 2010
Yes, this was Pat's choice. No I did not want to watch it nor did I want to like it. Really, what is wrong with this girl's voice? Has she been smoking for forty years? However, at times the movie was charming and fun, plus the music was a little catchy.
Vanessa Williams was the stand-out actor in the movie, and Billy Ray Cyrus was the... what's the opposite of stand-out? He was bad. He can't act his way out of a paper bag, and what was he doing in the bag in the first place? This is the story of a girl who sings for a living under a fake stage name to maintain her privacy.
When her personal and private lives start to collide, things go a little haywire. It is a cute movie for the kids that won't necessarily bore the parents. It is nothing I would choose to watch again, but for being forced to watch it, it surely did not make me vomit.
