Review of Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009) by Hayley H — 02 Apr 2010
This would definitely please its core audience as it gives you everything you would expect from a Hannah Montana movie. It was peppy when it needed to be, and added just the right amount of schmaltz and sap, because after all, this is a Disney movie and we need a moral lesson to take home.
I'm a little embarrassed to say I didn't totally hate it, but I would've preferred had they left the slapstick to the TV show and probably invested more in the other characters. I would've liked more Lily Truscott, definitely.
Emily Osment brings so much charm and zest to the role that it's a shame the movie didn't capitalize on it.
