I've watched the show from the first season. I've come to know these characters well over the years, and it has been pleasurable watching these youngsters grow up. This movie was more than an extension of the show.
The characters actually grow over the course of the movie; much of it was goofy, but there was plenty to get your teeth into. A good story with touching moments. I'm such a sap I actually had tears at one point.
The movie had very minimal effect on the show though. Good family movie.
