Review of Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) by Bob V — 30 Mar 2011
Perhaps Allen's most accomplished comedy, "Hannah and her sisters" deals -as so often with Allen's work- with a group of creative, artistic upper-class New Yorkers and their relational issues. Mia Farrow plays the Hannah in the title, and her character is the lynching pin around which the various plots revolve, but her actual involvement in them is minimal.
This film has the most star wattage of any of Allen's films (and that's saying something in his case) and all of the actors do excellent jobs, but I'm singling out Michael Cain's performance as being truly exceptional.
