Review of Hanna (2011) by Sarah W — 25 Jan 2013
Strong female characters dominate this movie. Big love to Eric Bana, he left a tip for us one night at a cheap pizza restaurant I think it was only a gold coin. Remarkably I smashed a glass in front of him.
Proving celebrities have no effect on the crazy. There is high visual beauty in many different landscapes in this movie along with an adrenaline-fueled, alternative soundtrack... this supports the action perfectly.
The concept of a young 16 year old killing machine is a first for me and I admit, I like it. Saoirse Ronan as Hanna perfect. Cate Blanchett as Marissa Wiegler a CIA officer perfect. Eric Bana, Erik trains his 16 year old daughter Hanna to kill Wiegler.
Shit is about to and does get real. If it was real life, Hanna would be taken away by CYPS. Training your daughter to be a killing machine is cruel and a little crazy.
