Bullying students are becoming deathly ill after screaming the name of a legendary ghost. What's to blame? An exotic illness? An Illicit drug? Or is it the supernatural? The clues are few and time is running out for the students of Rogers High School. The only hope is the Veritas Project, a highly trained investigative team working undercover to expose the truth. Lives hang in the balance as they scramble to unravel the mystery and protect the student body from their own hatred and fear.
Horror? HA! Hell no, not even close. Thriller then? Still got a ways to go. What genre would I qualify it as then? Well, there is no genre for it. So it gets a good kick off, then we start getting not even halfway through the movie and it turns horrible. I'm not even going to waste alot of my time reviewing this movie. Watch this if you feel the sudden urge to watch complete crap.
Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed.
Brigitte's on the run from Bailey Downs, and she tries to prevent what happened to her sister, Ginger, from happening to her by shooting up with monkshood. Eventually she collapses and the police find her and they assume the monkshood is a illegal drug, and she is sent to rehab. She is deprived of the only thing that will stop her from turning into a beast and killing everyone and everything in her way. She meets a girl who is queit and now well-liked, and much like herself, by the name of Ghost that helps her deal with her new problem and to escape the werewolf curse.
Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) is only seen in limited scenes which are only hallucinations of Briggite (Emily Perkins). There is a new character that takes over Ginger's spot and her name is Ghost (Tatiana Maslany). The acting is great, Emily Perkins is a just I can't think of a word for how great she is in this movie. What gets me is this movie is called GINGER snaps, I think they should have changed the title to something more orginal for the sequel. The ghost character was....well...good at times, then she starts to get annoying. But she fits a rehab patient though so I will definately give them that. So the actings great, but wait let me get to the plot.
I'm not going to hold this against them because it was still great and everything they did worked out. BUT, you see this movie is sort of about werewolfs and not about half or maybe over half the movie of just trying to escape the psych ward. Brett Sullivan does a great job at creating the dark atmosphere that this movie needs. There is a 3 movie in the works, it is a prequel that will be set in the 19th century and Ginger and Brigette are back, or well there "ancestors" anyways. It should be video stores in October, because I do believe its direct-to-video, either that or very limited release.
Kill Bill Volume 1.
The Bride (Uma Thurman) was once a top member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. And then, one day, she deicided to leave the business, assume a new identity, and get married. But it was on the day of her marriage that her old "friends," O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), Elle Driver (Darryl Hannah), Budd (Micheal Madsen), and Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), not to mention her boss, Bill (David Carradine), showed up out of the blue. They assassinate the entire ceremony and Bill shots the Bride in the head, putting her in a coma. Well, Bill and his people should have tried a little harder, because after 4 years, the Bride has awakened from her coma. And Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...
Ok, so I didn't go see this movie in theaters because it worried me about some things I had heard from people seeing it. Although it got great reviews, I still chose not to see it, well now I wish I saw this movie in theaters, it is a great movie. But now its to late to see the 2nd one, or here it is anyways, its already gone and come out of the theaters, so I got to August to wait for the 2nd volume. Quentin Taraintino has a very high imagination and just skill when it comes to making movies. Even though this is really only the 2nd movie I've seen by him, the other being From Dusk Till Dawn, which he didn't direct but only wrote. But it still had the Quentin feel to it. But I've made my decision now, that I am going to rent his older movies, the way I heard he did movies just didn't seem like it would work, but it worked in Kill Bill, so I don't see why the others wouldnt work. The acting is top performances by everyone. So theres no need to go down a list and say how great they did.
The effects, that was another thing I thought I would have a problem with. Before I had watched it I had heard that Quentin used fake looking blood on purpose. I'm not a big fan of stuff that looks fake, now I dont mind it in 70's or 80's movies or whatever, but a modern day movie I do. But, the only fake thing about it was the spraying part it just sprayed everywhere, so I could deal with that. And theres a spot where its in Anime and people say its random, well its not. The movie is divided into 5 chapters I believe, and the Anime section starts in a chapter and ends in that chapter. Its not like it came in the middle of a fight scene and then went in anime. It was put there for a reason, so that elminates it being random. Anyways I highly advise everyone to go see this movie.
Shrek 2.
Right after their honeymoon the newly wed couple goes to Princess Fiona's parents for dinner. When a Fariy God Mother discovers Fiona and Shreak are married she reminds the king about a deal they agreed on years ago that Fiona should of married Prince Charming (her son). The king then hires a cat named Puss-in-Boots (a sword fighting cat and ogre slayer) to kill Shrek.
Continuing my neverending movie reviews for today is Shrek 2, a great hilarious movie. I can't really give a long review on this movie because its animation and theres not alot to talk about. Puss-in-boots is a great new character that they added and I loved him, I love Antonio Banderas anyways. That added alot more humor and everything to the film, without that it wouldn't have been better then the first I don't think. Of course the Donkeys back, this is a perfect role for Eddie Murphy, this is about the only movie that I like of his recenly made movies, his career is going downhill. Mike Myers is back and is his normal self, in animated form. I love movies that spoof other things and this is what Shrek does, except fairy tale stories, with some movie spoofs included, theres one about LOTR in this one. Anyways, its a great movie, another movie I would highly recommend seeing.

No Faris for Scary Movie 4?.
Anna Faris has said she may not reprise her role for Scary Movie 4 that is scheduled to being shooting this fall. She will be filming Brokeback Mountain Ang Lee's next film, which she only as a small role in, so is that really the reason? Or is she tired of playing the character and wants to move on? Either way, Scary Movie 4 is stated to be nothing like the first 3 and it will be completely different. Its said Faris may have a small cameo apperance in it, likely in the first 5 minutes.
Rumors for Van Helsing TV spin-off a no go..
There was rumors going around that NBC had a Van Helsing spin off in the works, those rumors are false. The show is still said to be in development, just wont happen on NBC.
The Village gets a new ending?.
This movie better damn well be filming a new ending. I read it, I didn't have a problem with it, its got more of a comedy feel to it. Its definately nothing I would have thought of. Either way I will see this movie in theaters without a doubt, and I will continue to see M. Night Shymalyans movies in theaters because he is just the man.
