Like de Niro, Al Pacino's career descends into ignominy film by film by Hangman, a ridiculously impossible serial killer movie in which elaborate set-up follows elaborate set-up, follows cliche, confusion and grizzly denoument.
De Niro might have set the bar low but Pacino somehow manages to wriggle under it.
