Review of Hang 'em High (1968) by Corey N — 14 Apr 2010
After the success of Clint Eastwood role in the Sergio Leone westerns Hollywood came calling for him. This resulted in this box office hit Hang Em High. The basic plot is about a rancher that is mistaken for a cattle rustler and survives a lynching.
He becomes a US Marshall and sets out to bring in the men behind the lynching. Eastwood is great as usual as the cowboy turned Marshall. The movie has a great supporting cast. The film is full of gunfights and shows the darkness of the old west.
The story is solid and entertaining. Not as good as the Sergio Leone work Eastwood did but still this is a solid western. A must see for any fan of westerns.
