Review of Hancock (2008) by Landon D — 30 Mar 2012
In the summer of superhero movies in 2008, I missed one when I reviewed The Incredible Hulk. This would be the least anticipated of the four: The Dark Knight, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Hancock coming in last.
Although not your usual superhero fare in the typical movie sense, it's definitely a fun movie. Will Smith does some good work here, as does the rest of the cast. My only complaints about the movie would be the overuse of the music and some of the cliche'd superhero storyline (there's always a kid who loves the hero when nobody else does).
But hey, for a summer blockbuster movie, this one is more shrude than I gave it credit for upon it's initial release. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of this character in the future and his stories.
Fine by me, I'd like to see him take on an arch villain of some kind and sort out his past. We'll see.
