Review of Hamlet 2 (2008) by Dutch V — 21 Aug 2009
"Dementedly Hilarious"-I think not...Coogan's character was moderately funny as the artiste without a venue but I was disapointed in how poorly developed his comedic potential was. It could have been much better but really seemed slapped together and poorly filmed.
Interesting point that one's frame of mind/mood when watching a film can color a review. When I first watched this film several months ago, I was not impressed... I watched it again today on TV and am recanting the above. Steve Coogan IS the film and it is comedically brilliant. Perhaps I was a tad anal since I love the play (the original-lol) or maybe just in a shitty frame of mind. Whatever-I'm moving it from 2 stars to 4 as it is a clever, funny film.
