Review of Hamlet (1996) by Ben N — 04 Aug 2011
A sprawling massive epic of proportions only Shakespeare could envision, Kenneth Branagh's adaption of Hamlet is an intense, beautiful and haunting cinematic experience. A perfect cast (with several surprising celebrity cameos), gorgeous set design, and un uncut rendition of the original stage play are but a few of the pieces that make this the greatest Shakespeare adaption ever put to film.
Over 4 hours in length, yet not a minute of it isn't engrossing and poetic.
