Review of Hamlet (1996) by Chinmai R — 27 Mar 2012
Yes this is one hell of a long movie, but it's well worth your time! Kenneth Branagh gives us the best movie you can possibly make of Shakespeare's play Hamlet. If anyone is worried that this movie left anything out, you don't have to worry because this movie not only puts everything in from the original Hamlet but they also add more to it.
I don't think they should have added more to the story because already Hamlet is a terrific story there's nothing you need to add because if you add more you just drag on and unfortunately this movie did drag on.
I really loved this movie a lot but there's no way this movie should have been more than 3 hours. But other than the fact this movie drags on there's nothing else wrong with it, everything is absolutely perfect.
Kenneth Branagh does a great job playing the lead role as Hamlet, he also writes an amazing script and directs a phenomenal movie. Other cast members did a great job as well, like Derek Jacobi and Kate Winslet were great in this movie every scene they were both in was just amazing to watch.
So the movie Hamlet is of course an excellent movie and I wish I could give it a higher rating, but the only reason I'm not is because this movie did drag on a bit so if this movie was a bit shorter it would have a perfect rating.
