Review of Hamburger Hill (1987) by Peter K — 08 Mar 2008
The lesser known Vietnam pic of the 80's. Despite some capable actors in early career roles (Don Cheadle, Dylan McDermott) the film struggles to go anywhere which, while maybe its point - highlighting the pointlessness of war, failed to absorb this viewer and I was left feeling like I had personally pushed myself up the Hamburger Hill only to find no redemption at its conquest.
Watch Platoon, Full Metal Jacket and Casualties of War before this movie.
