Review of Hamburger Hill (1987) by Turtle P — 28 May 2008
War is hell, and this is a good example of that. But it don't mean nothin.
The main message of this film, outside of the whole pointlessness of the situation, is how shitty everyone was to the grunts stuck in the dirt. You can hate a war, you can hate the people in charge, but don't take it out on the poor bastards being sent to an impossible situation.
There's also a few moments of fantastic acting on show here. But it does have its flaws, mainly in the first 45 minutes.
