Review of Hallow's End (2003) by Mec R — 30 Jan 2004
I was searching for a few movies to watch this evening. And as I stumbled through the latest releases and some old favorites that I've seen a billion times I noticed this film.
I could tell right away that it was direct to video fare, but I really thought the story concept was rather cool and very unique. So I was said what the hell and picked it up to check out.
The acting was decent. Actually for a direct to video movie, it was done well as far as the acting goes. There was a character you could root for in Tom and a character you just wanted to kick the shit out of in Dan. So that is allways a plus.
There were a few jumpy moments in the film. The F/X we're decent and actually slightly above your avg direct to video fare.
The story was good and had a decent premise to it and was exacuted well. But there were just alot of your standard bad Low budget movie problems.
Overall it was a good rental. Think of it as Full Moon actually doing a movie right(Even though They didn't do it).
So if your looking for a fun little movie to sit down and watch and not have your brained turned on. This wouild make a good rental. But I would almost only recomend it for Die Hard Horror fans or fans of low budget films. If your into big budget Hollywood movies that this isn't the film for you.
