Review of Halloweentown (1998) by Ofelia S — 30 Oct 2017
About Movie.
Halloweentown is a Disney channel original movie. It came out on October 17, 1998. The film stars Debbie Reynolds as Aggie Cromwell, Judith Hoag as Gwen Cromwell Piper, Kimberly J. Brown as Marnie Piper, Joey Zimmerman as Dylan Piper, and Emily Roeske as Sophie Piper. Halloweentown is about a girl, Marnie finds out she comes from a family of witches and wanders to a place of mystical creatures where her grandmother resides, called Halloweentown, and she helps with her family to save the town that is in jeopardy of evil forces controlling it.
It is great for the whole family.
I really enjoy this movie. The movie is obviously intended for children as it is a Disney Channel movie, but adults could enjoy this movie. This movie is not purely a Childs movie as it is not just a silly cartoon. This movie is not animated but kids still love it, I have been watching this movie since I was a child and I still watch it every year. It is magical, something that adults and children can appreciate in a movie. There are a lot of adults that watch the movie because it is a good movie not just because their children want to watch it. This movie is a great Halloween movie, it is the only reason I look forward to Halloween is that this movie will be on and I love it. Most other Halloween movies are either only for children it is so cartoony and is intended for only children and adults would not enjoy it or the movie is scary and only for adults as children would be scared of the movie, but this movie is neither it is not scary, so children would not watch, and it also is not too kiddy to the point where it would be torture for an adult to watch it.
Characters.
The characters in this movie are great I love them all, my favorite is between Sophie and Aggie. There is Aggie she is the grandmother lives in Halloweentown is a witch and loves magic and is fun and loving. There is Gwen, she is the mother she hates magic and Halloween and is strict and mean. Marnie she is the oldest daughter who loves Halloween but her mother won't let her cerebrate it, she loves magic, and wants to learn her powers of being a witch. Sophie also loves halloween and magic but isn't as resistant to their mother as Marnie is about Halloween and magic. Dylan hates magic like his mother and is a kiss to their mother follows everything that is said and he is nerdy.
Magical.
This movie is so magical there is so much magic in it it is just great. Instances of magic include the flying bus, the fact that Halloweentown is a different world, flying brooms, witches and warlocks are the main characters, all the spells that the witches and warlocks do and, Sophie turning the lock into a frog. All the magic in the movie really brings it together. The magic really makes the movie fun and entertaining. All the magic that everyone loves to see movies with magic in it.
Rating and Conclusion.
Rating 5 stars.
I have decided to hive this film a rating of 5 of 5. This is my favorite Halloween movie and one of my favorite movies altogether. This movie is so good it is magical, funny, great for everyone and, has a terrific cast and characters. I have never seen a movie that I have enjoyed enough to watch again every year it is great I love the cast in the movie it really bring it together. My favorite movie from my childhood. I have given it five stars because it is a great movie one of my favorites the graphics are pretty good which is surprising considering the year. The costumes and makeup are great. The plot is so great I love the story of this movie. That is why I have given the movie a max rating.
