Review of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) by Scotty P — 09 Apr 2011
This review is of the Producer's Cut, which can be found on YouTube or as a bootleg DVD. First off, I'd like to point out that I don't mind an explanation for Michael Myers. Sure, he's "pure evil," but how did that occur? I like to have at least some answers, damn it! Anyway, I haven't seen the "official" cut, but what I've read about sounds godawful.
The P-cut has a druidic cult as the villains, the T-cut has scientists cloning Michael's evil? Stupid as fuck, says I. Most of Donald Pleasance's scenes were cut by the director for the T-cut.
Fuck him! Anyway, I have a soft spot for stuff about cults and ritual magic, so I got a lot of enjoyment out of that stuff. Also, I thought the ending was kick-ass in the P-cut. I actually have seen the T-cut ending, not that you can actually call it that.
Paul Rudd kicks Michael's ass, no kidding, and then the movie just stops there. My suggestion: go bootleg!
