Review of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) by Gilbert L — 19 Feb 2009
Not my favorite, I think the fact that it was made only something like 13 years ago proves that it just hasn't stood up to the test of time very well. As you probably already know, this was Donald Pleasence's final role, and boy I bet he roled about 31 times (31, get it, haha) in his grave over director Joe Chappelle's choice of film making as Joe found the scene's with Mr.
Pleasensel were just too boring. Also, another thing to point out is that little Jamie Lloyd is murdered in this film, yeah sorry to disappoint you about that, but it's kind of obvious as she gives birth to baby out of wed-lock (LYNCH HER, SHE'S IMPURE!!!), and is shortly then chased after Michael as a cult is using him to be their bouncer for their nifty little club, and blip-blap-blippity-bloop I can't go on with describing this stupid plot as it makes little to no sense.
There are some good death scenes but it's only because the people being killed are major assholes. That being said, if you like Halloween, you can enjoy it, I strangely liked it and now feel dirty for saying that, I think I'll go take a boiling pot of water and splash myself with it and watch a true horror story, something like Black Christmas or National Lampoon's Van Wilder, I thinker the latter of which is the most horrifying.
