Review of Halloween: Resurrection (2002) by Archibald T — 05 Sep 2009
Considered to be the worse of the Halloween films to date. I will have to disagree. When I first saw this I enjoyed it very much. The flaws in the film are obvious and the beginning is better than the whole movie itself. But the concept of the internet and a webcast involving Michael Myers is new and fresh and I like that. Brad Loree wears the mask this time and it seems like Dimension finally got the mask right. He manages to get the way Michael is without imitating the previous ones.
The one big thing that got me is the casting of Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks. Busta is just crazy and really only provides laughs. Tyra is a waste and there is no reason for her to be here.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns again in the beginning and provides a nice finale in her characters storyline. Now all that is left is her son....right? Well with a reboot series started already it seems like Michael's nephew escapes the curse.
The deaths were cool, but the casting just seems to want to bring together all of thee teen films top actor and bring together to die.
Go see this film just as a closure to the original series.
3 out of 5.
