Review of Halloween: Resurrection (2002) by Tom R — 17 Oct 2011
Everything about Halloween Resurrection feels cheap. I wonder how much of it was toyed with in post production since it's littered with fake-looking slow motion that's murder on the eyes. The storyline of college students being picked off my Michael Myers during an unrealistically popular internet reality show doesn't belong in this franchise.
The only real connection with Halloween is the first ten or so minutes with Jamie Lee Curtis, who finds out she messed up big time in Halloween H20. After she gets killed (no real spoiler there), Michael returns to his dilapidated home, where Busta Rhymes has rigged the house with cameras and idiotic college students.
The director must have thought that Busta Rhymes' token character is hilarious since his dialogue goes on and on. It's not scary, but there are a couple parts that make you laugh, but they are WTF/facepalm laughs.
I think what Halloween: Resurrection is trying to do is bring Halloween to the next generation with technology, but it just proves that this generation sucks.
