Review of Halloween: Resurrection (2002) by Hobie P — 24 Aug 2012
While definitely one of the worst movies in the series, this isn't nearly as bad as Halloween 3. The story line should have focused more on Laurie Strode and less on the random teenagers that were camped out in Michael's old house in Haddonfield, Illinois.
The awkward scene with Michael and Laurie at the mental institution left me saying "OK, now what?" That felt like the end of the Halloween series right there. Then, they flash to some reality show where the random teenagers get to "discover" the past of Michael Myers by spending the night in his childhood home.
The death sequences were way too predictable and there was virtually no suspense in the entire film. You knew from the beginning that most of the teenagers would die, and that Sara would survive to the end.
The original Halloween will always remain the best and no other version, Rob Zombie's included, will ever touch it.
